[User Picture]05:26 pm - This may sound wierd...
...but I finally figured out what was wrong with my previous idea of 'Evil Genius' for the interior-design of my car...

I was thinking 'Modern' evil genius. I.E. Austin Powers-styled, 60's-themed Evil Genius. Lots of plastic, metal, and primary colours. The primary colours and plastic were just Not Quite Right, but I couldn't figure out why, because the basic idea of the theme was dead on...

Then, I realized what I've been doing with my car from square one, when I made the conscious choice to get a pull-wire-based rear hatch release instead of an (arguably more effecient) electronic rear hatch release installed so I can remove the rear lock cylinder entirely. I'm trying to step back before the days of heavilly electric, augmented construction. To the days of steam, hydraulics, and gas engines at their infancy, much like my Civic is one of the first years, before the car became well-known and when Honda was still experimenting with it.

What era has been the focus of too many modern 'take over the world' schemes in comic books, movies, and other places, that focussed on mechanical machines, wood, leather, and metal everywhere, etc, etc? Steampunk. But not just 'generic' steampunk. Old West Steampunk.

Suddenly, the entire inside and outside just 'gelled' near-instantly in my head, what stuff goes where, how the dash will look, what the seats will look like, what to change on the outside of the car, etc, etc.

Just thought you all should know what my plans are now. :-)0 commentsLeave a comment
